Being a house cleaner is holy work. Being a cashier is holy work. Wiping potty-training butts is holy work. Making 7-figures doing something you love is holy work. Making zero dollars doing something you love is holy work.

WHY.

Because your work, and what you earn or don’t earn from doing it, is NOT who you are. Who You Are – your divine genius, your source of godliness, the light you possess by being a soul in a body – TOUCHES your work, INTERACTS with your roles, and by so doing, makes them holy.

My mom had a dream before my youngest brother was born. In the dream, she saw him as a being so glorious, she wasn’t sure whether she should get on her knees or not. This is you. This is me. The work we do – the roles we put on and create here, the callings we feel pulled toward and the things we do just to survive – are all privileged to interact with us.

Do your work, whatever it is, but do not give in to the temptation to wear it as your identity, or measure it on the societal scale of relevance and importance.
Remember your holiness. Remember that the work you do is in the presence of something more sacred, more godly, and more powerful than it could ever hope to be — YOU.
