I hope you know that your identity is not being held captive anywhere besides where you are now. You cannot externally source it from your titles and roles. You cannot find it by doing more. You are not out there, some future version of yourself, only fully embodied, potential only fully realized in proportion to your societal visibility, monetary contributions, or how well behaved your children are. Your power isn’t out there either.
We are told that power is in doing. Power is in producing, and by the way, the more visible you can make it, the better. And it’s true. There is power there. But there’s a lie there too. Because when the doing stops, or the production isn’t sustainable anymore, our power vanishes with it. And we are left, again, wondering where we are.
Your power and your identity are intricately woven together. When you find one, you will find the other, and they are available to you *now*. Look around you. Your power is here. It’s in the acceptance of your season. In the trusting of it to teach you, to bring you what you need, to show you your ability to create amidst the monotony, amidst the pain, amidst the joy. Your power is in BEING in your life. Owning it. No apologies. And understanding that for better or worse, this season will end. And at its end, you will either have received the gifts of wholeness that it has for you, or you will find yourself still looking. Receive now. Be here now. Stand in your power now. YOU are not lost. YOU are here.
